Dietitian FAQs
Welcome to the Dietitian FAQs section. We’ve compiled the most common queries regarding our services, approach and how we can best support your health journey.
Yes, I work with most major medical aid schemes. I submit claims directly, so you don’t need to worry about the paperwork. Coverage depends on your medical aid plan and available savings. Most dietitian consultations are paid from your medical aid savings, though certain chronic conditions or wellness programmes may qualify for additional benefits. If you are unsure, it’s best to check your remaining savings or benefits before booking a consultation.
Booking a consultation is quick and easy with options to suit your preference:
1. Online booking: Navigate to the Services Page where you’ll find more information about the different services we offer. Browse the available packages and select the option that best suits your needs. Click “Book Now”, choose an available date and time from the calendar and confirm. You will instantly receive a confirmation email with all the details.
2. Contact directly: If you prefer, you can also arrange your consultation by emailing me at info@ahdietitian.co.za or sending a Whatsapp message to 083 891 5721 to arrange a suitable date and time.
To help me personalize your initial consultation and create the most effective plan, please bring the following (if available):
– Medical history: Recent blood test results or medical reports
– Medication list: A list of your current medications and nutritional supplements
– Medical aid details: Your medical aid card (if you intend to claim from medical aid)
– Referral: A referral letter if you were referred by a doctor.
Please don’t worry if you are missing any or all of these items, we will still ensure your consultation is valuable, comprehensive and tailored to your health and wellness goals.
Yes, I offer both in-person and online consultations. No, you do not need a referral to book a dietitian consultation. You are welcome to book directly online or via Whatsapp/ email at your convenience.
Important medical aid note:
While a referral isn’t mandatory for booking a consultation, some medical aid schemes may require a referral letter from your GP to cover the cost of the consultation. Since the rules of coverage vary significantly by scheme and plan options, we strongly advise contacting your medical aid directly to clarify their specific requirements for reimbursement or coverage
